Family: Please pray that I will understand, believe, and feel God’s unconditional love for me. I have struggled with this for years. How can I truely be a Christian without faith in the very fundamentals?

James, my brother in Christ. You are not alone. Everyone struggles with faith at some time. The important thing is to not let it pull you from the path. Mother Theresa confessed that there were many times when she did not feel God, but she just kept doing what she felt He would want her to do. So you’re a normal Christian in good company. I promise you will see a miracle or two that will speak directly to your heart.
Grab a Bible and read 2 Corinthians 4:18 and let it sink in. Basically, the things we can see and touch are temporary…it is Our Hope in Christ and Him Crucified that is eternal.
Think of crossing a bridge to a beautiful place, and as you are crossing fog settles and you can’t see the other side, that makes you a but anxious, but you trust it’s there and continue driving and as you get closer, you begin to make out landmarks on the other side. You feel a bit more confident as you begin see beyond the fog. That’s my hope for you, brother!

In the Living Translation it says: 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
Yeah, Lord, so often we your children look to the problems that we have rather than to look at the glory and splendor of Your Name.
Even today, in the land of Judah, Jehoshaphat did not keep his gaze on the problem but his eyes were upon You, Lord. The battle wasn’t his but Yours.
Father, how Jehoshaphat’s heart must have pounded as he rode out to battle – not knowing how You would come through.
Lord, we struggle too, when we do not know how You will come through for us. Even knowing that You are there. The world around us with all our comforts and technology, distract us from the truth. Father, we thank You for Jesus – Who by His example – exhorts us to get away with Him – turn it all off – and focus upon the God of all wonders. Who never changes.
Holy Spirit, we lift up James to You and ask that You show Yourself to him – little sightings – a sunrise, sunset – clouds drifting by – the song of a bird – the miracle of new life – we ask You to open his eyes of faith and know deep in his heart that You are real and very powerful. Give him joy he cannot contain. More than he could ever possibly ask or think. PLEASE PRAY FOR MY DEPRESSION AND HEADACHES AND PIAN IN MY NECK AND SHOULDERS. THE LORD TO GIVE WISDOM TO MY ATTENDING DOCTORS.
