April 6, 2024 at 10:50 amI have been listening to DAB and I am starting to feel like God is very cruel, mean and unforgiving. As Brian reads the bible each day my feelings towards God is changing. I never wanted to fear God but each day I listen to Brian read and I am getting very concerned how ruthless God can be. I honestly dont know if I should continue to listen to DAB. I say this because I never wanted to fear God. I always felt that religious groups would use fear as a control tactic. But as I continue to listen to DAB each day I am starting to get fearful of him. I don’t want to fear God. Help me to understand his ruthless behavior.

The words “fear the LORD” are probably three of the most misunderstood words that there are. To “fear the LORD” means, less about the feeling of dread, and more about the feeling of respect. The “fear of the LORD”, is that affectionate reverence, by which the child of God bends himself humbly and carefully to his Fathers law or (instructions). Abba, praying 🙏🏼 Your child mapalmer66 gets a clear picture of what it means to be in fear of You. Help him/her to realize that Your not out to get them every time they make a mistake. That’s a lie from the pit of hell. Help mapalmer66 to realize that to “fear You” means, we reverentially respect You for who You are…Asking, in JESUS’ holy Name. Amen! 💞

April 6, 2024 at 4:42 pmmapalmer66- Parts of the old testament can be hard to listen to. I have to remind myself that it was a very different time than we live in now. God was directing his people to be set apart from those around them. The people that they were called to conquer followed others gods. In worship to the other gods they would even sacrifice their sons and daughters. God was calling his people to something different. I can’t say that I totally understand why it had to be so harsh in parts but I know and trust that God is good. I accept that because God is God and I am not there are things I will not understand this side of heaven.
When we look at the new testament we see Jesus leaving all of heavens glory and coming to earth –taking on all the guilt and punishment for our sins because of God’s love for us. I hope this helps. It may be helpful for you to get a study bible or a commentary that can offer some insight/history and background on some passages.Father God, I ask that you provide mapalmer 66 eyes to see and ears to hear of your love for them and for the world. Draw maplamer66 deep into your love. May he or she have a reverent awestruck “fear” of you because you alone are worthy of all our worship.
I encourage you to keep listening. In Christ-

April 6, 2024 at 8:30 pmYes! Yes! and Yes! to all these comments meant to love you and help you, mapalmer66! The only thing I would add is that even some of Jesus’ disciples questioned Him and were offended by His words. This is a difficult passage to accept in John, but I resonate with Peter’s general conclusion: where else can I go? You are God! And I would also add that just because I don’t always completely understand God’s decisions doesn’t mean I am willing to miss out on His goodness. And for the past 54 years, though I have had many valleys, He has always shown Himself to be oh so very GOOD!
John 6:60-68
60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”
66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Dear Abba Father, Please help mapalmer66 to be unwilling to miss out on all the good things You have in store for Your children and to cling to You no matter what. Please give mapalmer66 the faith to persevere in this journey with You and to give mapalmer66 the hope of the beautiful things in store for all eternity! May 1 Peter 1:7-9 be true for mapalmer66! I pray this in the Precious and Saving Name of Jesus!”
“that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.”

April 6, 2024 at 11:24 pmDearest Miss Palmer; Mankind is inherently stiff-necked, corrupt with an evil perverse mind. That is the fallen nature. It’s only when one becomes born anew that the Spirit gives us the objective truth that continually sanctifies us in His truth and sets us free from the consequences of the law that condemns us. Without the Holy Spirit we cannot see the Light of the Truth. 1 Corinthians 2:14 “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” Regeneration precedes faith. The Holy Spirit precedes a new life in Christ Jesus and bears fruit in the person of faith. Galatians 5:22. Question for you? Please answer me. Have you accepted Jesus as your savior? 🙏🏻❤️🕊

April 6, 2024 at 11:31 pmDear mapalmer66,
It’s late Saturday night and I’m catching up on all my readings in the Psalms. As Brian was reading Psalm 77 from the NIV Reader’s Version, I began to weep. And then I thought of your post. I wept and wept as I thought about life and how difficult this journey has been. I’ve replayed Brian’s reading at least five times now and couldn’t ignore the prompting to write to you as the Kleenexes accumulate on my bedroom floor. I’ve only been a part of the DAB community since December 31, but I can attest to the fact what Brian says is true: You will not be the same person after a year of reading the Word every day. It’s only April 6 and He has been working on so much inside of me. I have a long way to go as I grieve deep loss in my life. Then I ask Him for mercy and to help us all. This is only the 4th or 5th time I’m reading the Word in my lifetime. It has literally been years since I’ve read through the Bible in a year. I’ve felt like I’m being punished with all the loss and heartache I’ve suffered. Yet, I also know God has done miracles in my life. So, I encourage you to keep on listening. I think we’ve found a wonderful community of believers. I just wish we could all sit around an actual campfire and meet with one another face-to-face. Sending love. LivingAgain
Psalm 77 – NIV Reader’s Version (April 5 reading)
I cried out to God for help.
I cried out to God to hear me.
2 When I was in trouble, I looked to the Lord for help.
During the night I lifted up my hands in prayer.
But I refused to be comforted.
3 God, I remembered you, and I groaned.
I thought about you, and I became weak.
4 You kept me from going to sleep.
I was so troubled I couldn’t speak.
5 I thought about days gone by.
I thought about the years of long ago.
6 I remembered how I used to sing praise to you in the night.
I thought about it, and here is what I asked myself.
7 “Will the Lord turn away from us forever?
Won’t he ever show us his kindness again?
8 Has his faithful love disappeared forever?
Has his promise failed for all time?
9 Has God forgotten to help us?
Has he held back his tender love because he was angry?”
10 Then I thought, “Here is what gives me hope.
For many years the Most High God showed how powerful he is.
11 LORD, I will remember what you did.
Yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
12 I will spend time thinking about everything you have done.
I will consider all your mighty acts.”
13 God, everything you do is holy.
What god is as great as our God?
14 You are the God who does miracles.
You show your power among the nations.
15 With your mighty arm you set your people free.
You set the children of Jacob and Joseph free.
16 God, the water of the Red Sea saw you.
It saw you and boiled up.
The deepest waters were stirred up.
17 The clouds poured down rain.
The skies rumbled with thunder.
Lightning flashed back and forth like arrows.
18 Your thunder was heard in the windstorm.
Your lightning lit up the world.
The earth trembled and shook.
19 Your path led through the Red Sea.
You walked through the mighty waters.
But your footprints were not seen.
20 You led your people like a flock.
You led them by the hands of Moses and Aaronmapalmer66Prayers: 5Requests: 7

April 7, 2024 at 6:44 amThe holiness of God can be compared to the sun in the sky. When you get to close you get burned up. Gods holiness means sin cannot stand or be in it. But it isn’t because God didn’t want to bring us near Him. He knew we couldn’t get near Him unless we were as righteous as He is. That could only happen with Jesus. Things in the Old Testament, I don’t understand them all but what I do know is that God is love. If you can look at the Old Testament with eyes of love or hear the Old Testament with ears of love you can understand that God’s decisions for all man kind where not made apart from that. There are passages I read and I’m like, “why did God kill off all those people or want to destroy cities (or whatever the situation was) and I remember that there are plenty of things NOT recorded in the Bible that are plausible to have happened. We don’t know if God warned certain people groups (I’m thinking He did). We don’t know how long he suffered with them. He’s love and merciful so I would suspect and conclude that God did all He could do to help everybody everywhere. Sin always demands judgment and that Jesus wasn’t on the scene yet, people got the punishment for the sins they committed. Here’s a very good example: I’m def not a Bible scholar, but the people of Nineveh. Didn’t God send a prophet? He warned the people. They didn’t even know right from wrong. He was showing love and mercy on them by send Jonah. Thankfully they were a nation who repented. Isn’t right to believe and assume our loving Lord will follow suit on all man kind in some way? God loves people. He doesn’t wish anyone to die. He’s infinitely wise and kind in love and mercy and faithfulness. Trust that He is the same loving God then as He is today – the biggest love being His own Son. He doesn’t change, He is still the same, yesterday, today and forever. So we thank God for Jesus!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 He took on all the punishment we deserved so we can live 100% as Gods righteousness.

April 7, 2024 at 7:53 amMapalmer66 I guess these things are a stumbling block to many. I think all of us have struggled at one time or other reading the old testament.. There have been some good replies already, including talking about some of the things NOT mentioned in the Bible of today. I agree with this as there is much much more written and recorded about. Even with other books that have been in older copies of the Bible, no longer put into today’s copies 🧐 Reading some of these gives us a greater picture of God and of many things and people written about in the Bible. The story of Adam and Eve is a good example. What a tragic but also very sweet story of God’s relationship and love, mercy, compassion and kindness for His children, that is. And also highlights the very cunning ways of the snake (the devil). You CAN find these though mostly still in older copies of the Bible, The Apocrypha and elsewhere, even through the internet but ALWAYS ask The Holy Spirit too as I learnt a long time ago to ask God to show me things I was confused about or needed clarification or knowledge about. Gods ways are not our ways and we need to remember that. He sees the end from the beginning and consequences of our mistakes or sins. He says His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Oh yes! So true, even I have seen this with my own eyes. He also tells us to not be wise in our own understanding .. Proverbs 3:5-8 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

April 7, 2024 at 2:57 pmDear Mapalmer, your anxiety is understood by each Christian and listener of DAB. I urge you to read Psalm 23 and the Lords prayer in the gospels, multiple times, over the next two days. Also, spend more time in the gospels than the Old Testament. As people, we live out our lives on a battleground between good and evil, bit as Christians, we get access to God’s mercy, favour, and kindness. He is powerful and able to defend us, and only those who oppose him need to fear. He is busy defeating evil while gathering people to Him, to care for us, and to restore our broken lives.

April 9, 2024 at 12:22 pmSharing this piece and hoping that you are blessed and encouraged by it. 🙏🙌✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Is God keeping you at arm’s length? “Am I the only one to whom God does NOT SPEAK?” ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨Tears ran down the cheeks of this woman who had come to the service on Sunday after the first A Miracle Every Day Live Event. 🙌🙏✨🙏🙏🙏🙏✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ She continued, “I stood in the middle of all that was happening and was able to witness for myself how the Holy Spirit touched the people around me. But God gave me a wide berth…”✨🙏 Are you familiar with such times? ✨🙏✨🙏✨🙏✨🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Habakkuk knew it too. And he was a prophet! A prophet should really hear from God! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ But even he got caught in this silence. The silence that tempts us to believe that God is giving us a wide berth: “How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, ‘Violence!’ but you do not save?” (Habakkuk 1:2 NIV) ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Let’s face it, no matter who I ask, very few people answer, “I’m totally feeling God right now.” 🙏✨🙏✨🙏✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ It’s true, on that first A Miracle Every Day occasion, I too felt the Holy Spirit more strongly than I have in a long time. But I often do not wake up in the morning and think, “Ta Da! I immediately feel God’s presence.”🙏🙌🙏🙌✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ No, I do not feel Him immediately, but I believe immediately! I do not feel Him immediately, but I trust immediately! God is more than a feeling, so don’t wait for a feeling to believe in God!🙌🙏📕🙏🙌🙏🙌📕🙌✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ The book of Habakkuk begins (verse 2) with “you do not listen.” And maybe this is the point in your life where you are right now. 🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Do you know how the book of Habakkuk ends? ✨🙏🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.” (Habakkuk 3:18 NIV) ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Habakkuk doesn’t wait for a feeling. He makes a decision! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ This is not where the story ends! For God gives Him what he really needs. “The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.” (Habakkuk 3:19 NIV)✨✨✨✨✨✨🙏✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Likewise, God will give YOU what you need—and that is far more than a feeling!🙏✨ Rejoice TODAY in your mighty God!🙌🙏🙌🙏🙌🙏 You are a miracle!🙌🙏✨🙏

April 10, 2024 at 10:16 amWe can go to the book of Jonah and see the extent in which God will go to save people. He was going to destroy Nineveh because of their wickedness, so he sent Jonah to warn them and call them to repent and turn away from their sin. Jonah didn’t want them to be saved so he ran from God and the message he was to bring. But even then God wasn’t willing to give up on them or Jonah. Eventually Jonah brought them the message from God they listened and repented and they were spared God’s wrath. In my own life God has extended much Grace to me over my 72 yrs on this earth.

April 12, 2024 at 5:07 amMay you intimate relationship with Jehovah God increase and overflow in Jesus name. Fear is present, when trust is absent. Once a relationship of trust is established between you and Jehovah God, fear will dissipate. Simply put the Old Testament are stories of biblical characters learning to trust God. The new testament is about our relationship with Jesus as our savior and Lord. A loving relationship with Jehovah God will remove fear. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 🌸

April 16, 2024 at 2:13 pmA dear friend of mine shares this authors write up for encouragement with me from time to time. Her name is Deborah. She ends her encouraging piece with “you are a miracle!” This makes a good read for me. Enjoy 😊 🙌✨✨✨✨🙌✨✨✨✨✨ “Get Closer to God Today Do you sometimes feel your life is the way it is—and not the way you would like it to be— because God is punishing you for something you’ve done? ✅ 🙌🙏🥰 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Think carefully. Have you done something that you believe displeased God, but you quickly pushed that thought aside because there’s nothing you can do about it? 🥰 🙌🙏🤲🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ But what you cannot put aside is the distance between God and you, which is ingrained in your life because of what you’ve done. That sense of distance. Because remember one thing: a feeling is not necessarily the truth!🙌🙏🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ How often do I hear the sentence: “Déborah, you have God’s favor because you do so much for Him and live so holy…” And, you can’t even imagine what this sentence triggers in me.🙌 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ On the one hand I think, “If you only knew how many times I fail and need God’s grace,” and on the other hand it makes me sad for the people who still doubt God’s unconditional love, which cannot be earned.🙌🙏🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:8-10 NKJV)🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ I know you’ve probably heard that a thousand times, but did you really get it? Do you really believe that when you’ve failed once again, you’ve messed everything up for good? 🙌🤲🙏🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Don’t live any longer in this prison, because Jesus died for your freedom! 🙌🙏🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ And so I encourage YOU, to stop thinking, “Yes, others have God’s favour because they fail less,” but to believe the truth: “Jesus died for me—even when I fail again—so I can live a life close to God!” ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Thank you Jesus!🤲🤲🙌🙏 You are a miracle!🥰🙏✨🙏
